Weekly Update
Dear Members,
One of the members on the CRANAplus Board of Directors is taking a three-month leave of absence. This provides our board an exciting opportunity to select someone for a short-term appointment to the board. The interim period will be for April, May and June of 2010 and will require a few hours of input per month. The board sees this as a great opportunity to get fresh input as well as allow a member to gather insight into the governance functions of CRANAplus. Interested members are requested to submit a maximum of 100 word biography and Curriculum vitae (CV) for the board’s consideration. Submissions should be directed to CRANAplus
President Chris Cliffe at cliffe@internode.on.net. For a discussion about this role please call contact Carole Taylor, CEO of CRANAplus at 08 8959 1101.
The other exciting news we have to report is that new members are rolling in and we're expecting to reach a membership milestone this financial year. Keep watch for an exciting announcement!
Cheers,
Christopher Cliffe
CRANAplus President

Suicide Prevention Australia has developed a draft position statement on: Crisis Response and the Role of the Emergency Services and First Responders to Suicide, Suicide Attempts and Self-Harm.
The development of this position statement has being assisted and facilitated by an expert reference group, who have contributed their knowledge and experiences in the area of crisis response. In addition to their valuable input we would like to extend the opportunity for contribution to other members of the community. It is in this regard that we now distribute the draft for community consultation. We would greatly appreciate your feedback, comments and suggestions on the attached draft, particularly those sections that relate to your experience and knowledge in the area of crisis response to suicide. The closing date for feedback is close of business on Friday the 19th of March 2010. The final document shall be launched and distributed during April 2010.
